Problems connecting to the network?

G-Only Networks

If your chumby consistently fails to connect to the wireless network, you may be experiencing a known problem with 802.11G (and some Mixed Mode 802.11B+G) networks. In order to work around this issue until a fix is available, try setting your wireless access point to B-Only.

Stuck during boot?

If your chumby gets stuck on either of the following screens during boot, it may be due to a known issue when transferring a chumby between networks when after it had been previously configured to use encryption on another network. This scenario may also occur when changing the WEP or WPA/WPA2 password on your access point.

  • carefully slide the core unit out enough to see the USB wifi dongle
  • remove the USB wifi dongle
  • power on chumby (you will eventually be presented with the following screen):

  • click "restore factory settings" (do not click 'OK' yet)
  • replace the USB wifi dongle
